Congratulations to the 2014 Prom Court members who are: Allison Burgess, Ashley Fenskie, Miranda Luna, Rebecca Munoz, Nicole Nothelfer, Jared Banning, Jacob Hedrich, Kyle Helfrich, Jacob May, and Trent Warren. Juniors will vote for King & Queen and Prince & Princess on Thursday.

Student Council members planning on attending Spring into Service, don’t forget to turn in your permission slips by this Friday.

Students interested in running for class or student council please see Mrs. Hart for information. You must have a 2.7 cumulative grade point average. Your signed petition form is due back to Mrs. Hart by this Friday at 3:00 pm. Your teacher/advisory forms are also due by this Friday.

There will be open gym for all girls wishing to play basketball tomorrow from 3:00 – 4:30. Coach Paholke will open and close the high school gym on those days.

Remember to sign up with Mrs. Tuthill ASAP if you are interested in participating in the Mock Rock. We will only have one if there is enough interest.

The yearbook would like your prom pictures. We are looking for photos from before prom, getting ready, at prom, etc. please keep them school appropriate. We’d like toget as many memories as we can into the yearbook. Email your photos as attachments to Brianna McCloskey or Kaitlin Thurston at

2014 Prom picture forms are available in the office. The prices are as follows: 2-5×7’s plus 8 wallets for $20.00 or 2-5×7’s for $10.00. Remember to pick up a picture form in the office to give to the prom photographer along with your payment.

The Yearbook is accepting applications for next year for Editor in Chief, Assistant Editor, General Business Manager, Photo Editor and Sports Editor. Juniors and Seniors interested in one of these leadership roles can obtain an application from Mr. Gleissner, room 102. Students with past yearbook experience will receive priority. Announcement through Friday, May 2

Volleyball will have open gym every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:30 to 4:30 starting on Monday, May 5th and running through Friday, June 13th.

Seniors… One final group picture of the c/o 2014 will be taken for the yearbook before Senior Send Off on May 28. All seniors will meet briefly by the main entrance of the high school at 1:15 before the Senior Send Off.

Leadership Academy applications are available in the office or from Mr. Swartzendruber. Completed forms must be returned Mr. Swartzendruber by May 15. This is open to any student grades 8 through 11. The Leadership Academy will meet once per month for a half-day at Delta College. The list of those candidates who are accepted for next year’s academy will be posted on June 1st. Parents will be required to sign a letter of acceptance for the students who are selected. The first session will be mid-August.

JOSTENS will be here on Monday, May 5 during advisory to meet with the Freshman class in the HS Library. Class ring packets will be handed out at that time. Jostens will return on Monday, May 12 during lunch in the cafeteria to take freshman class ring orders.

Student Drivers School has a Segment I Session scheduled for this summer beginning July 7. Those who pre-register in the high school office or by phone will receive a special price of $250.

Students coming to school without notes or phone calls from parents to excuse their absence or tardy, will receive detentions or suspensions for being unexcused. Remember if you are tardy or absent during the day, you need to bring in a note or have your parent call the office.
