Michael R. Decker, Superintendent "Spilling the Beans"Coffee Hour with the SuperintendentMonday mornings at 8:45April 17, 2013Dear St. Charles Parents, Guardians, and Community, As the newly appointed Superintendent of St. Charles Community Schools, I am eager to begin working with you and your students. I feel fortunate to be chosen to work in such a family-oriented community and school system; together we can plan for continual student achievement growth for our youth. The welcome that the staff and community have displayed over this first week has been absolutely wonderful. I look forward to working with all community stakeholders to provide the best education possible for the St. Charles Community School students. This collaboration will serve as the grassroots for educational value in the community and help develop “The Dream” for our students. My impression thus far of St. Charles Community Schools, is that of family values, active participation, student achievement and engagement, along with strong support from the community. It is my hope that this system will continue and grow, as we progress together through educational activities. I would like to invite you to “Coffee with the Superintendent” on Monday mornings at 8:30 am. With that being said, my office is always open to discussion on how to move St. Charles Community Schools forward to make the best educational system for our students. As a district, we encourage your active participation in school events and suggestions on ways to improve our delivery of education. As a district and community, we need to continue our tradition of excellence; in academics, athletics, student engagement, and community involvement. This tradition is the direct result of active involvement of students, staff, administrators, parents/guardians and community. My vision as your new Superintendent is to: · maintain and grow a rigorous teaching and learning environment · provide every student with a sense of belonging · develop a system to allow students to grow intellectually, emotionally and socially · offer an educational system that grants student success with all the necessary tools to pursue and achieve their goals/dreams upon graduation Finally, I would like to congratulate Mr. Mike Wallace, Superintendent, for his exemplary service to St. Charles Community Schools. Well done, Mike and we wish you well in your retirement. With “Bulldog” Pride, Michael R. Decker Superintendent St. Charles Community Schools
