As the Superintendent of St. Charles Community Schools I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the quality educational programs we provide for our students. We offer not only an excellent educational program to our students, but educational facilities that are first rate. Academically our school district provides a solid core curriculum for our students. We also provide individual programs to meet the needs of all students. Students who struggle or are at risk of failing can attend after school tutoring programs four nights per week. The tutoring programs are offered by professional teaching staff to students in grades K-12. Highly talented students can procure individual programs which lead to earning college credit through local universities. This year, one of our students was placed in a chemical processing technology program which will lead to their certification and placement in that field right out of high school.
Each fall when the State of Michigan releases their Report Card Grades for public schools, St. Charles Community Schools scores exceptionally well. All of our buildings have received grades of "B" or above for the last several years. More important than receiving high grades, each of our buildings has achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). Along with providing a solid academic education to our students, thanks to the passage of our 2004 Bond proposal, we offer new and completely renovated facilities to students at every grade level. Our secondary school complex, which includes the high school, middle school, and central administration, has been fully remodeled including new heating and electrical systems, new technology servers and wiring, new computer labs, building asbestos removal, new roofs, remodeled bathrooms and a host of additional improvements. Our new St. Charles Elementary School will be a modern state of the art building with classroom facilities second to none. The new school will contain a fully equipped computer lab, six computer drops in each classroom, a state of the art library, a full sized gymnasium, and a fully equipped kitchen for fresh food preparation daily. We have excellent early childhood facilities for our kindergarten classes as well as the pre-school and daycare programs.
As you can plainly see, St. Charles Schools have a tremendous amount to offer to our students and our community. We hope you will take a look at our program when considering where you want your children to be educated.
