STEM class students were challenged to build a tower out of spaghetti that would hold/support a marshmallow on the top. They had a limited amount of tape, string and spaghetti to work with. The challenge was to build the tallest tower that would hold up the marshmallow.

In preparation for the students to start the novel Lord of the Flies, the students were randomly placed in groups. Each group was then "stranded on an island" and had to create a system of government, a flag, a map, and a hut.

English 12 Students Build Windmills. The project: Build a windmill was an introduction to the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell English Objective: Students were randomly placed in groups and given different material with the goal of building a windmill that was functional. Result: Some groups had more than enough materials while other groups lacked materials.
