Mrs. Samyn would like to thank Mrs. Kenyon's life skills class from last year for donating money to the aprons, Mrs. Molly Somers for visiting our school, and all the parents who donated food for our cooking. Bon appétit!
I want to make you aware of an incident involving one of our district buses yesterday evening as it was returning from the girls' volleyball game at Swan Valley.
The bus was transporting our JV and varsity volleyball players back to St. Charles when, while traveling southbound on M-52 approximately three miles from the school, it was involved in an accident with a tractor pulling a grain cart that was partially in the roadway. Due to an oncoming vehicle traveling northbound, the bus driver did not have the option to safely swerve into the opposite lane to avoid the cart.
Local Village Police and a Saginaw County Sheriff's Deputy responded to the scene. Thankfully, no injuries were reported at the scene. All students were safely transported back to St. Charles Community Schools.
As a superintendent, there is nothing more important to me than the safety and well-being of our students and staff. I know that hearing about an accident involving a school bus can be concerning for parents and families, and I want you to know that our students were cared for and safely returned to school.
We are grateful for the quick response of law enforcement, the professionalism of our transportation staff, and everyone who assisted at the scene.
We appreciate your continued trust and support as we work every day to provide a safe environment for our students and staff.
If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact the St. Charles Community Schools Central Office at 989-865-9961.
Thank you for your continued support of our students, our staff, and the St. Charles Community School District.
Ron Stanley
Superintendent
St. Charles Community Schools

Today, October 2nd, is National School Custodian Appreciation Day.
Today, we thank our school custodians, who are often the first to arrive on district grounds each day and the last to leave. From sunup to sundown, in the rain, snow, sleet, and heat, the custodians at St. Charles Community School go above and beyond to ensure all staff and students' needs are met.
Today was especially special because our Superintendent personally presented a 20-year service pin to our head custodian, Larry Fath (pictured below).
Mr. Fath leads an amazing crew. Brad, Craig, Heather, Jacob, Shamea, Tiffeni, Paul, and Victor are among the hardest-working, most dedicated team members you will ever meet, and we appreciate them every day. Thank you to the best crew around...thank you for all that you do each and every day!

We invite you to watch a video that highlights some of the best moments from Friday, September 25, 2026.

Each student picked out their own pumpkin, named it, and painted it! They even got birth certificates for their pumpkins. After painting, they did science lessons about pumpkins, where they learned why pumpkins are so popular, why they are orange, and all the fun things you can do with pumpkins!
