St. Charles Community Schools would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Chase Oldenburg, a member of the STC community, and the 1000-Mile Snowmobile Challenge for their generous donation of two books to our elementary library. The donated titles are "Twinkling Wings and Toothy Things," written by local author Nate Moeller from Freeland, MI.

These books were shared with the preschool classrooms, which are currently starting their dental unit this week. Ms. Shelby and Ms. Lindsey, teachers in the GSRP program, were delighted to receive these engaging learning materials for their classes, and the elementary library was thrilled to add the new books to its collection, which upper elementary students can also check out.

The Coming Home Assembly at St. Charles High School was held today, February 12, 2026. In a previous post, you can see the themed cart competition and the first rounds of "Macho Volleyball" that were held.

For the final "Macho Volleyball" competition, the Senior class team took on some brave STC staff members, and it was an intense competition from the very beginning! Ultimately, after a hard-fought battle, the STC staff secured the championship title with a 25-21 victory. Congrats to the staff who will be spending the weekend resting and recuperating with smiles on their faces :)

The Coming Home Basketball Game will be played tonight, February 12, at 7 pm in the Performance Gym. The Varsity Lady Bulldog Basketball Team will take on Fulton. They would love to have the stands packed with support to help them to victory!

In honor of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, we are proud to spotlight Gabe Kelley, a 12th-grade student enrolled in the Youth Development Program at the Saginaw Career Complex. Through hands-on learning and real-world experiences, students like Gabe are gaining valuable skills, earning credentials, and preparing for their future—all while still in high school.

Be on the lookout for CTE student billboards going up across our community later this month as we celebrate the opportunities available to students throughout Saginaw County. As you travel into St. Charles from Chesaning on M-52, watch for Gabe's smile in the sky!
