Hello St. Charles students and community!
I am the new principal of St. Charles Elementary School, and I am thrilled to be a part of the St. Charles Community Schools district.
As an experienced educational leader and elementary school principal from Saginaw, Michigan, I am dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Throughout my career, I have focused on building strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the community while supporting academic excellence and the social-emotional growth of every child. Over the past eight years as an elementary school principal, I have been honored to receive the Administrator of the Year award at Merrill Park Elementary and a National Blue Ribbon of Academic Excellence while serving at Handley Elementary. I have also had the privilege of representing the State of Michigan as a national presenter specializing in social-emotional support in education.
Before coming to St. Charles, I successfully designed, built, and opened an award-winning, state-of-the-art International Baccalaureate World School for Gifted and Talented students in Saginaw. My collaborative leadership style and commitment to educational innovation help foster a positive school culture that empowers both students and educators.
I was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, where I met my husband. Together, we have two amazing children, a son and a daughter. As true Michiganders, we enjoy spending time camping, hiking, and swimming in the summer, as well as snowboarding and skiing in the winter.
I am excited to meet the staff and students, and I am ready for the first day of school and an exciting journey with St. Charles Community Schools.

Following the unsuccessful August bond vote, the St. Charles Community Schools Board of Education has made the decision to place a revised bond proposal on the November ballot.
After careful consideration of the district’s needs, the scope of the proposed projects, and the financial impact on our community, a majority of the Board has voted to move forward with a reduced millage rate of 3.75 mills, down from the previously proposed 4.25 mills.
This revised proposal maintains the district’s ability to access more than $10 million in funding while continuing to address the important facility and infrastructure needs identified in the original bond proposal.
What Has Changed?
The most significant change is the proposed millage rate:
Previous proposal: 4.25 mills
Revised proposal: 3.75 mills
Reduction: 0.50 mills
Funding: More than $10 million remains available for the planned scope of projects
The Board believes this revised proposal provides an opportunity to move forward with needed improvements while reducing the millage burden for property owners.
Why Is the Bond Necessary?
The proposed bond is designed to address long-term facility, infrastructure, safety, security, and educational needs throughout the district. These investments are intended to support our students and staff while preserving and improving the facilities that serve our community.
The November proposal is not simply a repeat of the August vote. The Board listened to the outcome of the August election and has taken steps to reduce the millage rate while preserving the ability to complete more than $10 million in needed projects.
We recognize that any bond proposal represents a significant decision for our community. We also recognize the responsibility that comes with asking our residents to make an investment in St. Charles Community Schools.
