Today, October 2nd, is National School Custodian Appreciation Day.
Today, we thank our school custodians, who are often the first to arrive on district grounds each day and the last to leave. From sunup to sundown, in the rain, snow, sleet, and heat, the custodians at St. Charles Community School go above and beyond to ensure all staff and students' needs are met.
Today was especially special because our Superintendent personally presented a 20-year service pin to our head custodian, Larry Fath (pictured below).
Mr. Fath leads an amazing crew. Brad, Craig, Heather, Jacob, Shamea, Tiffeni, Paul, and Victor are among the hardest-working, most dedicated team members you will ever meet, and we appreciate them every day. Thank you to the best crew around...thank you for all that you do each and every day!

A huge thank you goes out to the students, staff, coaches, and volunteers who dedicated weeks to planning, decorating, and cleaning up after all the festivities. From the powderpuff game that kicked off Homecoming Week to the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night, everyone had a great time!

Each student picked out their own pumpkin, named it, and painted it! They even got birth certificates for their pumpkins. After painting, they did science lessons about pumpkins, where they learned why pumpkins are so popular, why they are orange, and all the fun things you can do with pumpkins!

At the same time, the elementary staff turned back time and had a blast celebrating "Decades Day" as part of Homecoming Week.

Today, St. Charles Elementary celebrated our Bulldog Boost Summer Reading participants with a special Homecoming Week Tailgate Celebration!
These students worked hard over the summer to keep their reading skills strong, so today was all about celebrating that commitment and having some FUN! Students enjoyed an afternoon outside filled with tailgate games, snacks, music, playground time, and plenty of Bulldog spirit.
The celebration was even more special with some of our St. Charles High School students joining us! Our high school Bulldogs picked up their elementary buddies from their classrooms, spent the afternoon playing games and hanging out with them, and then personally walked them back to class at the end of the celebration. ❤️
There is something pretty special about watching our youngest Bulldogs look up to our older students—and watching our high school students step into that role with such kindness and enthusiasm.
A huge thank you to our high school students for helping make the afternoon so memorable, and to our families for encouraging reading and learning throughout the summer.

Each group of entries has specific lineup locations assigned to them.
If you do not see your entry listed, PLEASE rest assured that you are considered a GENERAL ENTRY (purple lines on the map) and should line up on Jay and Sanderson St. We recommend entering Sanderson Street from Chesaning Street and continuing to Jay Street for a smooth lineup process.

Did you know.....September 24, 2026, is the date that you can start requesting absentee ballots, and the deadline to submit your completed ballot is October 29, 2026.
