The STC High School Peer-to-Peer Group representatives enjoyed their final peer-to-peer celebration with other peer-to-peer groups from around the county. Peer-to-peer groups connect students with and without disabilities to foster belonging and acceptance. What a great group of students!

Due to the recent storms and clean-up efforts, it is with the recommendation of Consumers Energy and the local authorities that St. Charles Community Schools and the Daycare Center be CLOSED on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Staff should not report, as the roads around the district need to be as clear as possible to allow the clean-up efforts to continue.
Furthermore, the Honors Convocation Ceremony will also be canceled on Monday, May 19, 2025. A new date for this ceremony will be announced soon.

Congrats to Shelby Szarenski, the 2025 St. Charles High School Turn Around Award recipient.
Pictured below are Shelby and Mrs. Kohagen, Shelby's English teacher, who nominated Shelby for this award. Mrs. Kohagen stated, "Over the past four years, senior Shelby Szarenski has demonstrated remarkable growth in maturity, focus, motivation, and attitude. She has evolved into a driven and resilient individual, consistently setting high standards, embracing challenges, and maintaining a positive outlook, making her a strong role model and leader among her peers".
Cameron Zastrow was chosen to represent the STC Virtual School as the 2025 Turn Around Award recipient. Congrats on your hard work, determination, and dedication to your education, Cameron! Pictured below are Cameron and Mrs. Skiendziel, the Virtual School Secretary. Mrs. Skiendziel works with the virtual students daily to ensure their needs are addressed as they work virtually independently on their classes.
STC students caught performing acts of kindness during the middle and high school second semester were entered into a drawing for a chance to attend a Loons baseball game. The students who were selected had a fantastic time at Dow Diamond and represented STC exceptionally well.
A proud coach moment was sent to us, and we are honored to share it!!
Connor Karow and Kirstie Symons had their "Signing Day"! These athletes have been on the Co-op Varsity Swim Team for the past 2 years and will swim at the NCAA Collegiate level in the Fall.
Connor will be attending Alma College to study Horticulture and Botany.
Kirstie will be attending Albion College to study Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.

After the recent storms traveled through our little town, the STC National Honor Society helped replace Veterans’ flags in the local cemeteries. We honor and thank all who have served.

Due to the recent storms, our Interim Superintendent , Sarah Kettelhohn, has organized an opportunity for community members to come into the building to shower (bring your shower essentials) and utilize charging outlets.
There will be hot dogs available while you visit, and water fountains inside the building to fill up your cups or water bottles if needed.
This event will run from 2 PM to 6 PM in the new gymnasium area at the high school for today, Saturday, May 17, 2025.
If any St. Charles Community Schools staff members would like to help, please feel free to stop up as your availability allows.

The STC National Honor Society seniors had the most wonderful weather on their Mackinac Island trip. It was a great time!
The NHS advisors, Mr. Wicke and Mrs. Samyn would like to thank the students for representing St. Charles so well, and the parent chaperones for making the trip fun and safe.

The Class of 2025 celebrated Decision Day on Friday, May 2, 2025. Students were able to write letters to their future selves, thank an adult for making a difference, sign their banner, take photos, sign, and then read their declaration during Senior Send Off. No matter what the class of 2025 decides, we know they will do great things! #BetterMakeRoom

STC high school students met with admissions representatives, toured the campus, and enjoyed lunch at Oakland University. They learned about programs offered, financial aid, and campus life. Thank you, Oakland University, for having us, and Go, Golden Grizzlies!
STC high school students took a trip to Howell, to the Operating Engineers 324 training site, to learn more about careers in the construction field. Students drove steamrollers, used a backhoe, welded, worked with iron, learned about the increasing use of drones, and so much more!
The 2025 Senior Send-Off Video was presented today at the Decision Day event. We want to extend an early CONGRATS to the 2025 senior class who are wrapping up their "last" events as Bulldog students. Best of luck, Class of 2025!!!
